The Premier concert of the Dallas Chamber Orchestra (then known as the Highland Park Chamber Orchestra) in June of 1979 presented two extraordinary young artists as soloists. The young artists played magnificently and the concert was received with great acclaim. The tradition continued as the orchestra began its third decade of extraordinary music making. Our 2009-2010 season marks the beginning of the fourth decade of performances by the DCO and we will continue this important tradition by presenting the extraordinary young violinist, Stephen Xi. Stephen has been a prize winner in numerous musical competitions and will perform "Praeludium and Allegro" by Fritz Kriesler and "Prayer from Moses in Egypt" (Variations on the G String), by Nicolo Paganini. Join the DCO family in "The Year of the Violin" as Mr. Xi performs these treasured compositions on the 1610 Hieronemus Amati violin.
